It was the invasive moth that was possibly imported into this country, possibly on vegetation of some sort way back in 1908,namely Tachystola acroxantha. It was first recorded in Devon.
It has been a regular in this garden over the summer but today gave me the only opportunity for a photo.
Dont think anyone is going to blow a gasket over this one but its nice to see that something is still flying.
The larva feed on leaf litter and withered leaves.
The Scientific Classification has been updated between Hepialidae and Geometridae on the website this weekend so hope you find this helpful.
All the best
