My sister and I managed to get lost amongst the dunes, much to the amusement of our partners but disorientation is not nice.

Upton Towans is a unique habitat with series of sand dunes that eventually take you down to the sea.

Inland one dune looks like another which is why one loses sense of direction

One of my first sightings was this micro moth as yet to be investigated but many grass moths were also in evidence like the Common Grass-veneer
The sun showed these to their best as they gleamed a violet hue, really stunning.

As my sister and I were following the butterflies to the coast line we found 3 or 4 pairs of Silver-studded Blues mating

By the small carpark at the entrance to the reserve I saw a number of these micro moths with the strange name of Nettle-tap Anthophila fabriciana although logic says they were also flying near Nettles.
