I was at the common at 10am this morning still feeling the direction of the wind before the sun also got up and started my little miniature safari.
Along the hedges the first thing to put in an appearance was the strange Black & red Froghopper - Cercopis vulnerata which has a behaviour like it was on a curry last night settling before,whoooh I must be off!!!
This is one of those places where sex occurs in Butterercups and Daisy's so its always worth checking out which moth or otherwise is at home.
I also at last caught up with one of my favourite noctids the Small Yellow Underwing which alas are all showing signs of wear and I only saw the first on Monday.
A small photographic tip is using an extended shutter release cable (Canon RS-60E3) as well as the release button helps in tricky positions giving two options when taking a photograph.
