I should be crying on my Arctinic tube but its not always about numbers as was the case today when I found two of the moths I have never seen before. The first was a Barred Sallow which has always bemused me as i had not seen a sallow moth of any kind and yet the trees grow round here like weeds so I wouldnt have been out of order to have expected one sooner. The second I only found when looking in the trap later and I feel its probably an immigrant and that is the thrilling male Four-spotted Footman. Not bad eh? Two new moths for the website on a catch of only 5 moths.
The third moth was a very "nigra" type of Shuttle-shaped Dart and the final moth was of course a LYU.
