Apart from the odd evening when the temperature has risen(my area forecast 4 hours of rain) its still been to cold to put the moth trap out this year which is given me twitches. I am left with the single option in Odiham where it has been very cold but constantly produced single Dotted Borders for a week now but today with another addition,my first Oak Beauty of the year.I feel the season is wound up like a spring and when the weather changes the moths will be everywhere but until that happens the blog will be a little subdued. I think you will all agree with me that moths of this calibre will always be worth waiting for and this certainly is no exception. I guess the Dotted Border (no prizes for guessing where the name comes from)has beeen a stalwart for me at Odiham so I will be sorry to see its season end.

Like you Colin, I just love the Oak Beauties. They are so striking - and easier to identify than a great many other moths!
