I did put the moth trap out last night purely out of frustration with these past two weeks, but the results were pretty poor although some NFY did appear.
Yesterday I found a newly emerged Green-veined White whose pupa case was still attached to the water butt. As one of the nicest I have seen so I felt sharing was the correct thing to do.It is a beautiful yellow with a tint of orange towards the base a stunning butterfly for me.
The trap produced the following:- Large Underwing 3, Brimstone Moth 2, Elephant Hawk-moth 1, Light Brown apple Moth 2, The Rustic 1, Square-spot Rustic 1, Seataceous Hebrew Character 1, Double-striped Pug 1 & Orange Swift 1, 5 wasps and a couple of spiders so who would want to enter the trap in the first place?
Not an exciting report, but worth seeing the Green-veined Yellow!!!
