And on that one night when you do brave the weather and you do get away with it you are inundated with the Large Yellow Underwings and Flounced Rustics of this world looking all the worse as there's nothing to put the cheer back, but today, today was different when I was blessed with that monstrous Red Underwing, not perfect but then he has traveled a long way to get here. I have seen them at Hook and Odiham in the past but this one kept going thank goodness,so it a new for garden species.
On the catch I also had a new for website moth when my first Centre-barred Sallow graced the trap. The were the unmentionables but also some that are a little bit more pleasing so here are some of the catch.
As well as the Red Underwing, the other immigrant to arrive at the trap must be the Silver Y.
