The inactivity has also made me feel lacklustre so I went out today - into the back garden to see what was about. With a 20ft x 20ft garden no miracles can be expected but at least it put a smile on my face if you forget the 2 micro moths I missed never to appear again.
As I have said each year the garden is small and half of it turned over to a wildlife garden which each year attracts more and more with 4 resident micro moths it something i feel pround about when you realise all around me is concrete.
The first thing that was obvious is the first brood of Plutella porrectella are over and have been replaced by a migrant of the same family, namely the Diamond-back moth with loads in the garden.
There are also loads of greenfly so obviously this results in loads of Ladybirds so here is what I found in a hour in the garden, most will have no names until the investigation is complete. Starting with three moths from the last time i placed the trap out.
