As usual I was treated to 3 Oak-tree Pugs and a few more of those pesky May Bugs as well as my first Shuttle-shaped Dart of the season(try to say that by your 4th pint !!!!)
I walked along the ride and found a clump of Thistle, either Marsh or Creeping and just gave it a tap which immediately resulted in this pretty micro moth appearing.I found 6 of them and at every attempt to take a photo they would fly into the woods. I went back to my car even more miffed before trying again and finding one obliging moth.I think its called ANCYLIS badiana and it makes sense as it feeds on many of the Vetches that the Wood White larvae feed on. I think you will agree it was worth a second try.
