I was hoping to catch up with the stunning little Duke of Burgundy the one butterfly that says it should all happen from now.
It was hot and sunny so the little blighters were active until about 2-30pm when they appeared to rest to soak up the warmth.
I think I was lucky to see the following although I was only photographing the "Dukes"
Duke of Burgundy 9 ; Holly Blue 1 ; Brimstone 6-2Female ; Peacock 1 ; Orange-tip 4 males -as you can see things are still slow as is the growth on the floor.
There were some good numbers of the Early Purple Orchid showing along with Violets, hiding in the grasses and the must have for Noar Hill namely the Cowslip
I have great difficulty to name the Violets even with the books so will leave you to decide.
Only found 1 resting but found a total of 4 males and 2 females along with a solitary Peacock
