With the forecast of showers I decided to visit Odiham Common for an hour this morning to see what leps were about and I'm afraid it was only moths.
The first is the good favourite of many, namely the variably marked Yellow Shell. Burnet Companions were in good numbers but I gave them a miss this time.
Next was another favourite migrant that adorns most of our gardens in search for evening nectar and that of course is the Silver "Y"
A first for me was a single specimen of the georgeous micro moth called Scoparia pyralella.
A couple of unknown micros to follow which look similar but are probably not.
Update :- Possibly the Bright Bell Eucosma hohenwartiana for both moths
This maybe the same micro but when you dont know them and they are slightly worn the task of identification is more difficult. The more I look the more I see the same.
