The head is orage-brown with darker stripes.
Pupa: Pupates beneath soil
Overwinters as: Larva
Observations: When freshly emerged this is a beautiful rich green moth marbled with white,brown and black.The thorax is green with a rusty ref tuft. The antemedian and postmedian lines are made up of a series of black dashes and the subterminal line id braken and made up of inward facing black spear heads. The terminal line is a series of black small dashes.
The green coloured pigment of the wing soon fades in the sunshine leaving a worn yellowish grey moth.
The moth is attracted to light in small numbers and is also attracted to sugar.
