Worldwide Distribution: Europe-Belgium,Great Britain,Channel Isles,Denmark,Switzerland,Netherlands,Norway,Luxembourg,Germany & France
UK Distribution: Local species Found only in Pine Forests reaching as far north as southern Scotland

Similar Species -

Overwinters as: Larva
Observations: The moth is whitish grey towards the base with a cross band in slightly darker grey and a suffusion of orange starting slightly before the median area getting stronger towards the tornus.
Although similar to Clavigesta sylvestrana Curtis, 1850 the orange markings are lighter.
Although a local species relying on Pine forests the species is spreading in England.
The moth flies in the evening and is attracted to light.
