Observations: The main diognostic feature of this moth is the reddish band between the ante and postmedian lines. There is also a reddish band adjacent to the termen.The thorax tufts are also marked in the same reddish brown colour.
Although this moth prefers damp habitats like marshes,fens and damp grassland it is also one that appears in gardens and as such can be expected at the light trap.
It is a moth that is attracted to sugar and also feeds on flowers.
