Similar Species -

Observations: The similar species C.proximella can be separated from this species from segment 2 of the labial palp which is white speckled greyis whereas this moth has segment 2 which is white.
Similar species C.decorella can be separated from this species by a short black dash in the basal area of the forewing along the costa.
Forewing of this moth is whitish speckled grey with black marks on the costa.Moths from Scottish Highlands have more blackish scaling towards the central part of the wing.
The moth is attracted to light appearing at the moth trap in small numbers.
