Observations: This small pug can be distinguished from its similar species E.plumbeolata (Haworth, 1809) by the red band at base of abdomen. Both species are weakly marked individuals with faint or absent discal spot and cross lines that kink near the costa. The costa is slightly curved on this moth.
Moth can be flushed from host plant during the day and is attracted to light.
