Observations: The faint green colour of this moth when fresh is similar to some forms of Green Pug, but soon fades to a brownish grey forewing colour. One diagnostic feature of the Sloe Pug is the very striking salmon pink belt near the base of the abdomen, in fresh specimens, which fades to pinkish brown and is blackish on the Green Pug abdomen.
The white postmedian line is less wavy in the costal half and wavy towards to dorsum. In the Green Pug the costal half of the postmedain line is way and edged on the basal side in black. The discal spot is elongated and is sometimes connected to the costa with a thin black line.
The moth is occasionally found at the light trap otherwise it is seldom seen.
