UK Distribution: Widespread in central and southern England,Wales and Channel Isles : Ireland,Isle on Man,east,central and southern Scotland - predominately coastal

Similar Species -
Overwinters as: Possibly Adult,Larva or Pupa
Observations: A fairly plain moth with a blackish triangular marking at half along the costa which only appears in a much larger and paler H.rhomboidella. This dark marking,although still there, can appear very faint or missing altogether.
Moth can be attracted using sugar and are also to be found in the light trap
