Worldwide Distribution: Europe - excluding (Azores,Balearic Is.,Canary Is.Channel Is.Corsica,Crete,Cyprus,Denmark,Estonia,Finland, Latvia, Madeira,Malta,Lithuania,Luxembourg,North Aegean Is,Norway,Portugal,Sardinia,Sicily,Sweden and The Netherlands) : almost whole of temperate Palaearctic region : Middle East : Turkey
UK Distribution: Only recorded twice in 19th century from Kent & Surrey

Similar Species -
Observations: A very rare migrant to Britain, it has only been recorded twice back in the 19th century where one was seen in Kent and the other Surrey.
Very similar to C.linetella, the two can only reliably be separated through genitalia examination although with this moth it can be identified by the two brown lines adjacent to the apex curving in and joining before the postmedian line. (see photo)
The forewing is creamy yellow towards golden yellow with longitudinal and cross lines brown. Hindwings are grey.
