Wingspan: 44 -48mm
Worldwide Distribution: Europe - less (Belgium,Estonia,Ireland,Latvia,Lithuania,Luxembourg,Norway,Poland,Russia & Sweden ) to N Africa -Morocco, Algeria : Asia Minor - Iran, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Kirghisia
UK Distribution: Vagrant from southern Europe : south east England

Observations: The moth is a migrant from southern Europe and north Africa, having only appeared twice since 1980 with one in Dover in August 1967 and another at Bradwell-on sea Essex in September 1969. Between 1981 and 2005 the moth was recorded nine times and in 2006 an unbelieveable twelve. There has been no evidence of breeding in Britain.
Although similar to Geometrician ant first sight there are clearly easy differences to separate the species.
The moth has delta shaped forewings with dark brown basal and median areas with two dots adjacent to the apex.
Moth is attracted to sugar and to light.
