UK Distribution: Widespread and local throughout much of England : northern England, Wales,Ireland and northern Ireland - local to very local

Similar Species -
Pupa: Pupates in a case constructed from part of a leaf which drops to the ground.
Observations: Care should be taken when identifying this moth as a few Gelechid moths have dark forewings with whitish yellow tornal and costal spots.Labial palps can be used to differetiate between the species as the similar species E.immaculatella had dark fuscous palps whereas this moth has ochreous coloured palps.The final definitive way of differentiating between the species is to revert to genitalia examination.
Moth can be disturbed from around the host plant,flies early evening and is attracted to light.
