Description
Wingspan: 16 - 27mm
Worldwide Distribution: Practically cosmopolitan ( as far as Australia and Hawaii) in subtropical regions. Rarer further north.
UK Distribution: Rare migrant to south coast in spring and autumn

Observations: This moth is a rare immigrant from mainland Europe and subtropical regions of the world, normally appearing along the south coast in most months of the year.
The forewings are narrow and elongate,yellowish brown with a pair of yellowish postmedian lines and three apical streaks in the same colour.
There is a marginal row of small black spots bordered in white and and gold.
In Europe the moth is found from September to the following August, after overwintering, but here it is normally found in autumn or the following spring.
