Worldwide Distribution: Europe - less Estonia,Latvia,Lithuania,Luxembourg,Norway,Poland,central/north/north-west Russia & Sweden : North Africa : Middle East : Turkey : Caucasus : Transcaucasia : Iraq : Iran : Afghanistan : Pakistan : NW.India
UK Distribution: Immigrant normally recorded along southern coasts but have been noted as far north as southern Scotland. Also recorded in Channel Isles,Isle of Man,northern England and Irish republic

Observations: This small moth is an immigrant, normally recorded on the south coast, although has been recorded as far north as southern Scotland.
The moth has a creamy white forewing with a central cross line which is white suffused brown on the basal side with another cross line towards the terminal end which is shaped like a question mark on each wing.There are brown patches near the dorsum and a dark almost black apial band or streak.
The Purple Marbled is larger than this moth and lacks the central cross line and oftem has distinctive purple streaks.
Moth is attracted to flowers of the host plant.
