Pupa: Pupates in a flimsy cocoon among loose soil.
Overwinters as: Pupa
Observations: The moth is beautifully marked with a background that has a violet tint which fades into a white band adjacent to the thick black antemedial band. The basal area also has a violet tint ground colour.The black postmedial line is thick at the costa and projects in a meandering stream like appearance,which gives the moth its vernacular name, to almost the terminal line before retracting back across the forewing as a thin black line.
The moth is quite happy to settle close to a light source, on a wall, such as an underpass, or on a fence during the day.
The moth is attracted to light where it can be found in the moth trap.
