Description

Worldwide Distribution: W Europe - less ( Bulgaria,Czech Re., Denmark,Estonia,Finland,Latvia,Lithuania,Luxembourg,Norway,Poland,
Romania,Slovakia,Slovenia,Sweden,Switzerland, Ukraine & Madiera) : Turkey : India
UK Distribution: Southern England - below The Wash to River Severn - local or locally common : North Wales,south east Ireland - rare : few records elsewhere.

Observations: Forewings pale brown to yellowish brown finely covered in dark brown speckles with variable white streaks. A white costal streak, starting at base, gently curves to meet with the apex.Darker spots occur approximately half way along wing length but can be missing in some specimens,as below.
Moth flies at dusk and is attracted to light.
