Description
Wingspan: 24 - 29mm
Worldwide Distribution: Europe - ( Excluding - Azores,Channel Is.,Cyprus,Ireland & Norway)
UK Distribution: Currently found in Devon,Kent & Sussex

Habitat: Vegetated Shingle : Chalk & Limestone Cliffs : Sand Dunes
Similar Species -
Pupa: The pupal case is covered with dried leaf fragments and attached to the surface of a dead leaf
Observations: This moth is restricted to a few coastal localities in the south east of England where its preferred sites of shingle beaches occur.
It is found in south Hayling and Portsdown Hill where it is found in low numbers.
Forewing creamy white,shaded light brown,with a very strongly and irregular toothed dark brown cross band at about one half ,the cilia are strongly settled.
Can be disturbed during the day from food plant and is attracted to light during the night.
