Observations: The forewing is dark brown turning towards reddish brown adjacent to the dorsum, with four oblique silky white cross bands, the median pair joining to form a "V". There are also irregular white spots in the apical area. As a well marked gelechid is it easy to distinguish from other similar species.
The moth flies in the afternoon and evening and is attracted to light.
