Russia,Slovakia,Sweden,Netherlands Madeira and Cyprus) : N W Africa : Asia Minor : Crimea : Caucasus : Transcaucasia
UK Distribution: Scarce on north and south coasts of Devon and Cornwall,Somerset,southern and western Wales and Anglesey. Suspected migrant on coast of Dorset,Sussex and south east Kent and inland as it spreading from the east.

Similar Species -
Pupa: Pupates in cocoon between crevices
Overwinters as: Larva
Observations: A nationally scarce species found around coastal habitats between Kent and Anglesey either as resident or possible migrant and increasingly inland as the moth spreads from the east.
Very similar to the Scarce Footman but the hindwing is very pale yellowish grey as opposed to similar species which is ochreous yellow.
Forewing is narrow,silky and very pale grey with pale orange stripe along costa.
Moth is attracted to light soon after dark appaearing at the moth trap in small numbers.
