Description
Wingspan: 23 - 28mm
Worldwide Distribution: Europe - including (Andorra, Balearic Islands, Great Britain - (N Devon,W Sussex,S Devon,Channel Isles) , Spain, Channel Islands, Portugal , France , Switzerland.) : North Africa
UK Distribution: Resident in Channel Isles,immigrant to south coast,Dorset to Cornwall,Kent and Essex

Observations: The moth is resident in the Channel Isles and a migrant on the southern coasts of England,mostly from Dorset to Cornwall although also recorded in Kent and Sussex. Resides in southern and eastern Europe as well as north Africa,migrating to France(scarcer in north) and Great Britain.
There is no evidence of breeding in Britain, although colonies could already exist on the mainland under ideal conditions.
A distinctive grey moth with several black cross lines including apial streaks and a broad black median band which bulges outwards along the postmedian line and incorporates two discal spots,one smaller than the other and both adjacent each another.
