Observations: An endangered Red Data Book species and a priority species under the UK Biodiversity Action Plan this moth is confined to the woodland in Kent as a breeding species with recent appearances in Cornwall,Sussex and Dorset possibly related to immigrant activity.
A very distinctive moth with yellowish thorax spotted orange, broad forewings with yellow basal area finely marked with orange lines,with the remainder of the wing being light brown to orange-brown with white cilia.
The moth flies at night an dis attracted to light.
