Description

Overwinters as: Adult
Observations: The forewings are usually greyish brown or light sandy brown with a lighter basal area which is highlighted in greyish shading. The overall wing has black light speckling with two black dots facing outwards at one third the wing length and a black surrounded white spot at half the length with dark grey blotch between the two sets of spots. Termen highlighted with a series of black dots.
This moth is larger than its similar species A. putridella and with the veins in forewing less apparent.
Moth is attracted to light.
