Worldwide Distribution: Europe excluding (Azores,Balearic Is.,Belgium,Canary Is.,Channel Is.,Corsica,Crete,Cyrus,Estonia,Ireland,Latvia, Lithuania,Luxembourg,Madeira,Malta,Norway,Portugal,N & NW Russia,Sardinia,Sicily,Sweden & The Netherlands) : Asia Minor : Iran : NW Africa : The Caucasus : Western Asia
UK Distribution: Rare immigrant recorded twice, in Kingsdown,Kent in 2014 & Durlston near Swanage in 2015

Similar Species -
Overwinters as: Larva
Observations: First discovered in Britain in a garden trap on 13th June 2014 in Kingdown in Kent before a second specimen was also caught to light at Durlsdon near Swanage on 1st July 2015.
A moth from central and southern Europe it is very similar to the Alchymist & Sorcerer moths although the white crescent shaped marked on the costa will differentiate between the species.
