Description

Worldwide Distribution: Europe - ( Including - Austria,Balearic Is.,Belgium,Britain,Channel Is.,Corsica,Croatia,Denmark,France,Germany,
Italy,Malta,Portugal,Romania,Sardinia,Sicily,Slovenia,Spain and Netherlands) : Coastal areas of Western Europe and North Africa
UK Distribution: Parts of southern England,eastern England and southern Wales
UK Conservation Status -
Habitat: Coastal areas : Wet Heathland : Bogs
Similar Species -
Pupa: Pupates in plant litter
Overwinters as: Early instar larva
Observations: The forewings are light beige often with pinkish or purplish brown tinge with the median area being shaded light brown with clearly seen black discal spots.
Some white forms are encountered in among the previously mention tinges.
Although wing shape is similar to the Sub-angled Wave the Rosy Wave is considerably smaller.
The moth is a nationally Scarce B species under the UK Biodiversity Action Plan.
In Europe this moth tends to be coastal found around the Mediterranean and North Africa.
Possibly better searched by torchlight than light trap where it is seldom seen.
