UK Distribution: Local resident in Cambrigeshire fens and coastal marsh in south east Kent.Immigrant to south east and central England.

Observations: An unmistakeable moth with slanting parallel white cross lines which are diagnostic and also give this small brown moth its common name.
The moth is a rare Red Data Book Species is locally resident in the Cambridgeshire fens and coastal marsh in south east Kent near Sandwich and is a regular immigrant in the south east and central southern england.
Moth is attracted to light.
