Worldwide Distribution: Europe - (excluding - Azores,Balearic Is.,Canary Is.,Corsica,Crete,Cyprus,Ireland,Madeira,Malta,Sicily & Slovenia) : N Caucasus : Georgia
UK Distribution: Although recorded as scarce there has been a general increase in its distribution in the first decade of the 21st century.Very local distribution in south and south east England from Somerset to Norfolk,south-east Wales and the Channel Isles.

Habitat: Ancient Broadleaved Woodland
Similar Species -
Observations: Although superficially similar to the above N. singula & N,peliella it is easy to separate the species due to more pointed forewing and the white patches beyond the prominent black stigmata on this moth. This moth also has pale-tipped brownish-black labial palps.
The moth rests on tree trunks during the day and is attracted to sugar and light at night.
