Overwinters as: Larva
Observations: The moth is greyish brown with square white spot close to the antemedian line,a small white spot below this and a larger oval spot adjacent to subterminal line.
Unlike A.stachydalis Germar, 1822 the larger spots on the forewing and hindwing are unequal in size whereas they are same size on the similar species.
The moth is easily disturbed from rest during the day on fences etc and is attracted to light.
