Description
Vernacular Name: Long-winged Pearl

Worldwide Distribution: Europe - less Norway,Slovenia & some Mediterranean Islands - eastwards to Japan
UK Distribution: England-to south Yorkshire,Wales & Ireland - Cork & Channel Isles

Overwinters as: Larva
Observations: The moth forewings are narrow and quite long with sharply rounded termen.The forewing is pale yellowish white with a strong subterminal line that is curved and serrate whilst the antemedian and postmedian lines are feint and initially straight before curving towards the costa.From the subterminal line towards the termen is darker grey colour with thin vein like markings making the area look like grey streaks.There are two crescent shaped marks in the centre of the forewing at the edge of the costa.
The moth is easily disturbed during the day and is attracted to light.
