Similar Species -
The larva initially feeds in a leaf mine before creating a spinning on the underside of the leaf which can be rolled.
Overwinters as: Adult
Observations: Forewings are pale brown with reddish brown shading and finely speckled blackish with a pair of oblique black spots about a third along the wing and another black spot positioned approximately at one half.Between these dots is a blackish blotch with lighter smaller marks along the costa and in the basal area another pair od blackish blotches. The terminal line is made up of a series of black dots.
The moth is common throughout the British Isles appearing late summer to early autumn before hibernating over winter and reappearing in spring.
The moth is attracted to light.
