Worldwide Distribution: Europe - excluding (Azores,Balearic Is., Bulgaria,Canary Isles,Corsica,Crete,Cyprus,Greece,Madeira,Malta, Portugal, Sardinai,Sicily & Ukraine)
UK Distribution: Common throughout the British Isles except further north

Habitat: Damp Grassland pastures

Overwinters as: Pupa
Observations: The forewing of this species is matallic golden green with the costa being tinged reddish or or purplish (see photo 1 below).
This longhorn moth has antennae that are twice as long as the forewing in the male and just less than 1.5 times the forewing length with the female.
The moth flies in sunshine during the day sometimes in reasonable numbers.
