Observations: There are three similar species to this moth,all are scarce and differ slightly. G. schoenicolella Boyd, 1858 - hindwing dorsal cilia white in basal half,G. forsterella - silver dot in black apial spot,G. equitella - additional silver spot in disc before apex.
The easiest way to find this moth is when they are visiting flowers to feed on pollen from either Buttercup or Daisies where they can be found in considerable large numbers as high as thirty.
The moth flies in sunshine and occasionally comes to light.
