Description

Worldwide Distribution: Europe - less Bulgaria,Channel Isles, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Latvia, Luxembourg,Norway,Spain and most Mediterranean Islands : Asia Minor
UK Distribution: Local throughout most of the England,Wales into southern Scotland and some areas in Ireland

Observations: The moth has glossy black wings with two sets of raised scale tufts. The head is yellow providing the latin name for the moth S.flaviput along with the palps which viewed from the front and on top are also yellow.On the sides of the wings there is a brown spot.
The moths are diurnal flying in the morning.
Moth can be attracted to light.
