Similar Species -
Pupa: Pupates in silken tent formed on underside of leaf
Observations: Although Similar to p.myllerana this moth has smaller white spots and less rounded with the white speckling in the median area covering almost the full wing width. The subterminal line is distinct with this species but indistinct on the similar species. The apex is less rounded with this moth.Worn individuals would require genitalia examination to differentiate between the two species.
A Nationally Scarce species its is only found locally in southern England and western Scotland.
Moth flies by day, usually around host plant and is a rare visitor to the light trap
